Australian Sailing Team Partners

Essential to the success of the Australian Sailing Team (AST) is the securing of adequate funding and support of the Athletes and their campaigns.

The Federal Government, through the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and the AIS have shown their support for the Team by their commitment of nearly $3 million annually through to the 2008 Olympics. An additional $2.5 million per annum is required to fully fund Program and allow the Team to achieve their goals in Beijing in 2008.

The Team has developed a Partner Plan with three tiers.

Tier 1 - Commercial Sponsorship opportunities break from the traditional focus on brand / media exposure with an emphasis on the provision unique benefits and opportunities for sponsors. The approach provides for close relationships with the Team and it’s members, allowing sponsors to leverage and participate in a range of vertically integrated, tailored and unique corporate activities that focus on the elite and high performance aspects of the Team.

We offer three main levels of sponsor involvement with an additional media partnership program providing additional Team and sponsor exposure.

The Commercial Sponsor program offers the opportunity for all our sponsors to develop and participate in a range of local and international programs, activities and derive the associated benefits including:

• Unique customer (internal and external) and client interaction and development programs – using the AST athletes, coaches and support staff as participants in tailored corporate development high performance and leadership programs.
• Exclusive Corporate events – The AST and sponsors combining with sponsor clients in unique “inside the ropes” corporate events centred on team camps and tailored corporate days.
• Community and Corporate Social Responsibility Programs – teaming with AST for the opportunity to establish and develop youth and junior sailing programs and other similar activities. 
  Brand exposure and alignment – significant boat, equipment and other branding combined with naming and IP rights opportunities and benefits packages are available.

Tier 2 - The Australian Sailing Team Patrons Club – A select group of successful prominent yachtsmen and women, who through personal mentoring, endorsement and financial support to the Team help to ensure success.  The Australian Sailing Team is registered with the Australian Sports Foundation enabling all contributions to be tax deductible.

Tier 3 - The Sailing Community – Through clubs, the broader sailing community provides support for the members of the Team. AST programs see these clubs benefit in a variety of ways from an association with the Team and it’s members.
